In 2014, Yule or the Winter Solstice falls on Dec 21 and is the first day of winter in the Northern hemisphere. At this time, the hours of daylight and darkness are equal but soon, daylight hours will increase. For Wiccans, spells and rituals for Yule celebrate the themes of the Oak King (longer daylight hours) vanquishing the Holly King (hours of darkness), as well as personal alchemy.
If you live in the southern hemisphere, then you should read my recent post on Midsummer.

If you need a spell or ritual for Yule, my Wheel of the Year guide contains a Mystery Meditation, where you will have the opportunity to glimpse your future using the four elements of Fire, Water, Earth and Air. It also has recipes for the above Yule menu.
Blessed be!
